How can I contribute?

1. If you are interested in writing for The Pulse, feel free to click the 'Sign Up' tab on the top of this page.

2. Provide us with your name, email and an inquiry regarding contributing to the magazine.

3. Let us know which category you are interested in writing on:

      News

      Lifestyle/Culture

      Academics

      Opinion

Don't worry if you don't know which category best suits you - state that you are undecided and we will work towards finding the best fit for you!

Who can volunteer?

Any undergraduate student currently enrolled in the Faculty of Health Sciences.

Do I need experience?

No experience is required!

How does this whole thing work?

Once you have sent an email to The Pulse, we will send out a reply within the next few days. Depending on which category you have chosen, we will then proceed to provide you with the option to either pitch your own idea for your article, or, our team can provide you with a list of topics that you can chose from. If you do decide to pick your own topic, we ask that you provide us with a brief synopsis/idea of what you will be writing on.

The article will then be edited and released onto the Pulse website on the release date.

What's the commitment?

Your commitment to The Pulse is entirely up to your availability and preference. Because The Pulse is released on a bi-monthly basis, we encourage volunteers to write at least one article per issue. However, you can contribute as much as you wish - all content and contributions are welcome for any issue!

Article submissions will be accepted at thepulsefhssc@gmail.com. To view specific times regarding article submissions and issue releases, view our calendar

What's in it for me?

The Pulse offers students a unique opportunity to expand upon and increase their vocabulary and writing skills, as well as promote involvement in the Health Sciences community and provide a creative space to pitch relevant and fun content.

Your participation means a lot to us! For volunteers who write three articles throughout the year, we will provide a reference write-up at the end of the school year or upon request.

Look out for upcoming socials and meetings throughout the year also!

What if I am having difficulty with my article?

If you are having trouble with your article, or simply have a question, do not hesitate to contact our team.
