Welcome to The Pulse!

After several months at work, our team is finally ready to release The Pulse – welcome!

The Pulse is an online magazine that collects submissions from students within the Faculty of Health Sciences and combines those articles to create a new edition of The Pulse each month. Students may submit articles pertaining to either news, academics, culture/lifestyle and/or opinion.

Our team consists of Aanal Patel as the Publications Coordinator, Oriana Trojanowska as the Publications Editor, and Meagan Miranda as the Vice-President of Communications on the Faculty of Health Sciences Students Council.

We are all very excited for the release of The Pulse and have many great ideas planned for the upcoming year.

Hello Mustangs!

My name is Oriana Trojanowska and I am the Publications Editor for The Pulse this year. I am so excited to share this long-awaited project with all of you that myself and Aanal have been working on this summer!

My role as the Publications Editor is to review and edit article submissions. More specifically, I check for spelling, vocabulary, run-on sentences, punctuation (etc.) and overall, I do an analytical overview of your article before it is released on The Pulse’s website. I also help to run and compose the magazine each month and ensure that the website runs smoothly altogether.

My goal this year is to encourage as much creativity with articles as possible, be thorough with editing, and maintain close communication with volunteers. In saying so, I see a huge value in sending volunteers a copy of any edits that I make on their articles for future reference. I am also available for any questions regarding writing and composing your article (or any other non-Pulse related questions that you may have), so always feel free to email me at otrojano@uwo.ca.

Hey Everyone!

I’m Aanal Patel, your new publications coordinator for the upcoming year. I am working alongside with Oriana and we have designed the Faculty of Health Sciences their very own news letter where your articles have the opportunity to be published and read by many!

As the Publications Coordinator I manage our website The Pulse along with looking over and accepting article submissions. I may also be able to answer any questions regarding the topic of any articles to be submitted. Additionally, I am responsible for monthly updating the Pulse with our latest submissions and promoting your amazing articles to obtain a large amount of reads.

The Pulse is a great way to interact with other students and put your thoughts out there to help others! We even give out the opportunities to receive reference letters for submitting reads! If you have anything at all that you would like to write about or any questions, shoot me a message at apate336@uwo.ca. I would love to help you come up with a great article that you can share with others.
